Stem is inspired by cut down tree trunks, which rest on top of each other in the forest. These trunks often provide a seat to rest on for passersby.

The upholstery collection Stem transforms this incidental reinterpretation into an interior piece of furniture. The elements are made of foamed material and covered with a jute fiber fabric, also known as Hessian. The loose connection of this simple and unconvential piece of furniture contrasts the archetypal sofa, that due to its weight and size is fixed to its spot.
